NEW SOUTH WALES v. SOUTH AUSTRALIA. Played at Sydney, December 4, 5, 7 and 8 . New South Wales won by an innings and 297 runs. The match was remarkable for a superb batting display on the part of Duff and Noble, who added 293 runs whilst together for the fourth wicket. Duff batted 280 minutes and Noble 302, the former hitting thirty-nine 4’s and the latter thirty-three. In partnership with Gregory, Noble added 136 for the fifth wicket. In response to the huge score of 681, South Australia had made 115 for the loss of but one wicket at the end of the second day. Rain then fell, and so affected the pitch that the batsmen were helpless against the bowling of New South Wales. In consecutive innings during the past season New South Wales scored 681 and 624 against South Australia. N e w S outh W alks . R. N. Hickson, b Rees 6 J. J.
