Played at Lord’s on July 29 and 30. Haileybury won by an innings and 41 runs. Haileybury had much the best of this match on the first day, for they scored 223 against 64 for five wickets. The only outstanding inniDgs during the day was the 61 of G. N. Bignell, who played excellent cricket and scored at a fair pace all the time that he was at the wickets. Brett and Benson both bowled well. It was unfortunate far Cheltenham thu Salter, who has made a great many runs for the school this season, was caught and bowled before he had scored, and that rain came down at a quarter past five and made the wicket so difficult on Saturday that the bowlers had much the best of matters. Play began on Saturday at half-past twelve, and things went very badly with Cheltenham, who had to follow- on. In the second innings, Rawson and Peel made 62 of the 76 runs from the bat.
