Each side completed an innings, and Cambridge had a lead of 189. Wilson put himself in ninth and hit brilliantly for 69 not out. On Tuesday Cambridge had no difficulty in winning. THE SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM. THE SOMERSETSHIRE MATCH. [ tw elfth of the tou b .] Played at Taunton on July 11 and 12. South Africans won by an innings and 86 runs. Considerable progress was made wilh this match on Mondiy. Againnt the Somerset total of 198 the vibitors scored 22* for six wickets. The only out standing innings on the Somerset side was the 79 not out by F. M. Lee, who alone of all the batsmen played Kotze with any confidence, to r the South Africans, Tancred and Shalders put up 1 8 in an hour and a baif for the first wicket, and although there was no long 8 and after this, the South Africans ended the day with a letd of 31, cchwarz being not out 33. On Tuesday Schwarz hit tremendously bard, his brilliant inning* of 93 including seventeen 4’s ; he was only batting for an hour. Tne innings was by no means over, for Shepstone and Halliwell played the most delightful cricket, and put on 1C6 runs in an hour for the ninth wicket.
