The Cambridge team appeared at Aigburth without McDonell and Payne, who were playing for the Gen­ tlemen at Lord’s, and Eyre and K. R. B. Fry. On the first day the local team had the best of m-itters, scoring 982 and getting rid of Marsh and Keigwin for 27. C •mbridge had to make 3r6 runs in the fourth ianings of the match, and on the second evening they had knocked off 45 of the runs.
