The all conquering Lancashire team must fcave been a little anxious when at ten minutes past six on Monday rain stopped play, for the weather looked so unpromisiog that the Warwickshire total of 311 for six tickets assumed formidable proportions. The chief feature of the Warwickshire innings was the batting of Kinneir, who was at the wickets all day for his 16*2, and was btill undefeated when the day’s play ended. His side were doing badly until he was joined by Lilley who helped him to make 167 for the fifth wicket in a couple of hours. Lilley’s batting was exceedingly attractive. During the partnership between the two Warwickshire men R. H. Spooner Was tried with lobs, but did not meet with success. On Tuesday, Kinneir was bowled with the first ball he received; his innings had lasted fur five hours, and included seventeen 4’s. Lancashire hadmade 90 for two wickets, when rain came down and stopped play for the day. Yesterday, Lancashire did badly in the first Innings, but in the follow-on Uuttell and Hpooner played t-plendid cricket and brought their side intriumph out of a verydifficult position. THE GLOUCESTERSHIRE MATCH. ( f if t h of t h e to u r .) Played at Bristol on June 13, 14 and 15. Drawn. Against a weak team of Gloucestershire the South Africans gave a good account of themselves on Mon day, scoring 339, and taking a Gloucestershire wicket for 11 runs. At lunch time the total was 180 for two wickets. Tancred and Schwarz each made nearly a hundred, *ihe former batting for two hours, and the latter for an hour and a half. During the partnership of Wallach and Schwarz for the ninth wicket 75 runs were put on in forty minutes, most of them from the bat of Schwazz. The batting of Gloucestershire was disappointingonTuesday, ana Wrathall alone made a good ecore.
