Cricket 1903

A pril 16, 1903. CKICKET: A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. 71 seen. It is unfortunate for them that Mr. G. S. Patterson, still one of quite the best all-round cricketers they have in the States, should be unable to spare the necessary time from his business to take the captaincy as was expected. Other wise the players who are coming will represent the pick of Philadelphian cricket, and everyone will hope that they will have luck enough to show to the best advantage. One thing is certain, that they will play bright cricket, and, what is more, will play the game in the Bpirit of true sportsmen. As far as is known at present, the team will consist of the following players :— PHILADELPHIAN TEAM. J. H. Bohlen, Germantown. J. H. Bates, Germantown. N. Z. Graves, jnr., Germantown. R. D. Brown, Germantown. J. H. Seattergood, Merion. C. C. Morris, Merion. A. M. Wood, Belmont. J. E. C. Morton, Germantown. T. C. Jordan, Germantown. P. H. Clark, Germantown. P. N. LeRay, Philaie'phia. J. A. Lester, Merion. H. Haines, Merion. E. M. Cregar, Belmont. J. B. King, Belmont. Yorkshire is not included in the number of their opponents, but as they have only kept two dates open, they will, no doubt, find that the programme they will have to carry out more than enough for them, particularly as they are not used to play the game so severely, and are certain to feel the strain of almost continuous cricket for two months. The Philadelphian programme will be found “ in another place.” INTER -STATE CR ICKET , 1902-3. LONG PARTNERSHIPS. 298 Duff, R. A. (132), and Trumper, V. (178) for N.S.W. v.
