LONDON COUNTY v. GLOUCESTER SHIRE. SCORE OF 150 B T D R . GRACE. riayed at the Crystal Palace on June 4, 5 and 6. London County won by seven wiekcts. This may decidelly be described as W. G.'s match, for not only did he score 160 runs, but, bowling for a long time, took six wickets for 102runs. Gloucester shire made a brilliant commencement in their first innings, Wrathall and T. H. Fowler putting up 277 for the first wicket in two hours and a-h&lf, both scoring a hundred by the most attractive crickct. The rest of the innings was notremarkable, although Huggins played a good game. With twenty minutes to bat, Loc don County lost two wickets for 21. Friday’s play was noi iceable for the very fine baiting of the famous Doctor. Ee was at the wickets for three hours and a-half, and his innings was the highest he has made since 1898. Before he had made a run he was missed by a substitute who wan fielding for Jessop. After this he was never in difficulties, and not even the most brilliant of modern batsmen could have played better cricket. Another beautiful innings was that of Poidevin, who, with a damaged hand, in partnership with the Doctor helped to put on 124 in an hour ana a-half. With a lead of 86 Gloucestershire collapsed in the most inex plicable manner in their second innings, the absence of Jessop, who was not well enough to play, seeming to take all the heart out of them. At the name time Kermode and Uesketh-Prichard bowlid uncommonly well. This breakdown gave London County an unex pectedly easy victory. G loucestbbbhirk . First innings. T. H.
