On the fastest of fast wickets the Englismen wore down the bowling before lunch on the first day, and the result was a big score made in very fast time. Mr. Wilson, after beginning patiently, hit out in a manner to which he is not accustomed, and played a great innings. Nearly all the team did well, and Mr. Hollins, who went in last, belied his position by playing a first-class innings for 54 not out. From the very first Mr. Dowson created a panic among the Jamaicans, who let him play with them, and they were all out for 33. In their second innings they did much better, but they were were evidently not seen in their best form. Snow, a coloured Jamaican, played remarkably good cricket for 40. E nglish T eam . F. L. THE MATCH AGAINST JAMAICA COLTS (XYI.) ( f if t h o f t h e to u r ). Played at Sabina Park, Kingston, on Feb. 11. Englishmen won on the first innings by 149 runs. In this one-day match the Colts were absolutely overwhelmed, Mr. Dowson’s bowling proving far too good for them. Most of the Englishmen made useful scores, Mr. Lee, Mr. Bosanquet and Mr. Fane playing the best innings. T. H. K . Dashwood, c Stephenson, b E.Cox 14 E. C. Lee, b Moss ... 49 A. D.
