Cricket 1902

374 CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. A ug . 28, 1902. admirable oricket. Anthony’s 51 not out at the end of the innings was a very useful score. A t the close of the day Lancashire had lost three wickets for 25, as a result of altering the order of going in. They were playing an up-hill game all day on Friday and never looked like getting out of their difficulties. Wass bowled very finely in both innings on a wicket which helped him. The only Lancashire men who distinguished themselves were Ward, Tyldesley and Maclaren. N otts . Played at Haarlem on August 18 and 19. M.C.C. won by four wickets. This match was remarkable for the splendid baiting of Posthuma, who, when seven Dutch wickets had fallen for 25, knocked up 95 runs out of 116. His first 50 were put together in a quarter of an hour, and altogether his display was little short of wonderful. N orth of H olland . First innings Wearman, b Holden ......... 0 Waldert, b C. B. The chief features of this match was the fine stand in the second innings of Holland by C. Feith and A. A. Kool, who both played the M.C.C. bowling with ease. On the first innings the score was a tie, and in the second the M.C.C. had to make 181 to win. The first wicket fell quickly, but Hornby and Goodden put np 90 before they were parted, and then Hollins and Hornby made success nearly a certainty. H olland . First innings. Second innings. A .
