Cricket 1902
m CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. J une 5 , 1902. SOMERSETSHIRE v. LANCASHIRE. Played at Bath on May 29, 30 and 31. Drawn. Thanks to a fine innings of 109 played by Hallows, and a hard-hit 47 by Sharp, who in partnership with Hallows put up 78 in forty minutes, Lancashire were in a commanding position when stumps were drawn on the first day. Against a total of 245 they had dismissed seven Somerset men for 133, Gill and Kobson being the only two men to offer any prolonged resistance to the bowJing. There was only a couple of hours play on Friday. Gill, who was not out 49 overnight, increased his score by 20, and in the end Lancashire had a lead of 83 on the first innings, to which they added 57 for three wickets before play was abandoned for the day. The game could not be continued on Siturday until a quarter to four, by which time there was very little chance of finishing the match. L ancashire . First innings. E E.
