Cricket 1901
4 5 4 CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. Nov. 28, 1901. yesterday. While Tyldesley and Lilley were together there was just a chance that the Englishmen might secure a glorious victory. Lilley’s 80 was a par ticularly plucky effort; but he was not destined to see his side pull through. New South Wales, in fact, had just a bit in hand throughout, and in a great measure, through Clarke’s bowling, were able to win a well-contested match by 53 runs. N ew S outh W ales . First innings.
