S e pt . 1 2 , 1 9 0 1 . CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. 4 0 5 and very few balls ever pass where he is placed. He bowls a little, and took 15 wiekets for 30 runs apiece. J. Bennett is fourth with an average of 25 for nine innings, and had he only played a little more would have greatly improved his average. As a bowler it would be hard to find a better amongst the new-comers, and his average of 17 wickets for 17 runs apiece is good considering the little bowling he did. BATTING AVERAGES.
