Played a t N ortham pton on J u ly 18, 19 and 20. South A frican s w on b y five w ickets. When the South Africans went in for the fourth innings of the match they had to make 172 runs, and lost five wickets for 58, so that their position was pretty desperate. But then Mr. Sinclair was joined by Mr. Murray Bisset and the runs were hit off without further loss. It is very pleasant to see that the former has at last begun to show his true form, and better cricket could hardly have been played than his two fine innings in this match. He and Mr. Bisset made nearly all the runs in both innings, while the bowling of Mr. Rowe and Mr. Kotze had not a little to do with the success of their side. N ortham ptonshire . First innings. W .
