W. Durbridge, who had an average of 40 last season, succeeds Carpenter as captain, and with H . G. Patrickson, C. W. Sharp, L. A. and B. H. Tucker, should have the nucleus of a good batting side. The attack w ill be shared by C. W. Sharp, H . T. Covil, and E . Patrickson, whilst most of the team can go on as changes. L. G. Neal, who can bowl a medium paced ball w ith a break from the leg, w ill probably get a trial. The fielding last year was good and the only difficulty at present is in finding an efficient stumper. C. T. Povey (of Berkshire C.C. and late of Marlborough), to whose efforts so much of last season’s success was due, has again been engaged as coach.
