As usual, H a m p s t e a d has a most comprehensive programme. Mr. A. E. Stoddart undertakes the management both of the “ Week ” and the tour, which tabes place in Sussex. Other managers of matches are Messrs. J. G. Q. Bescb, W . S. Hale, E. E. Barnett, W . T. Danby, E. L. Mareden, and J. C. Toller. The committee consists of Messrs. F. S. Alford, W . T. Danby, H . B. H ajman, G. L . Jeffery, G. MacGregor, T. W. Mackintosh, W . R . Moon, E. L. Marsden, A. E . Stoddart, and J. C. Toller. The honorary secretary is Mr. F. C. Wheeler, 9, New Court, L ircoin ’s Inn,W .C., while, in an unofficial capacity, Mr. R . L eigh- Ibbs does a great deal of valuable work. Messrs. Stoddart, MacGregor, Spofforth, Hayman, L . J. Moon, W . R. Moon, E. L. Mareden, W . T. Danby, E. E . Barnett, F. L . D. Monro, Ahsan-ul-Hak, J. G. Q. Betch, T. M. Farmiloe, W . S. Hale, S. S. Pawling, and others are all playing again this season. The Sussex Tour is revived after a lapse of seven years, as Mr. Stoddart has undertaken to get the team together. The Lord of the Manor and President of the club, Sir Spencer Maryon Wilson, has granted an extension of the lease of the ground until 1910. Numerous improvements have been made in the buildings on the ground, and a new fence and entrances erected.. C. Boot and T. Gregory are again at tbe head of the ground staff, with A. J. The president, Mr. Edward W. Nicholls, who has been a member for over thirty years, during which time he has filled every office, has five sons in the club, including E. W. Nicholls, the Middlesex county cricketer, whose last wicket record is still fresh in the memory, and E. F. Nicholls, the late hon. secretary of the Blackheath Harriers. The club also includes such fine players as Messrs. P. W. Oscroft, D. J. Crump, G. Hillyard- Swinstead, B. A. Clarke, W. J. L. Brewer, Harold Wade, E. O. Cranford, etc., etc. The hon. secretary is Mr. Frank B. Dent, “ Langdale,” Muswell Hill. There is no regular captain, but a manager is appointed for each team.
