J uly 19, 1900 CRICKET: A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. 287 FOREST HILL CRICKET WEEK. 4 th MATCH, v. W AN ST E A D .-P layed on July 5. W a N8T*AD. First innings. Second innings. D. A . Matches played, 6 ; won, 2; lost, 3 ; drawn, 1. The Forest Hill C.C. were very unfortunate this year in the weather. Monday's match v. London County C.C. being abandoned after the visitors had lost five wickets for 54 runs. The bowling of Hearne (J. T.) and Martin in the M.C.C. match on a wicket that suited them proved too deadly for the home team. The beat battiog of the week was shown by C. F. Phillips, who scored 50 not out v. Wanstead, and 69 v. button. C. G. Welchman, as usual, was the most successful bowler. An open air illuminated fete took place on the Wednesday, under the direc tion of Mr. L. V . Cockell, and proved most enjoyable. 1 st MATCH, v. LONDON COUN TY.-Played on July 2. L ondon C o u n ty . S. M. Tindall,b Welch- Sir C. Moon, c Skip- 0 * -------- m an W . L.
