Warwickshire showed up particularly well on the first day of this matrh. Kiuneir and Mr. Fishwick put on 133 f r the first wicket, and although aft^r lunch several men were out very quickly, l.illey played a magnificent innings, putting together his 1 11 in an hour and fifty minutes. Mr. Fishwick, whom Warwickshire have to thauk for paving the way for their good scores, was at the wickets for two hours and a quarter for his very fine 131. At the close of play Gloucestershire had lost Wrathall for 27 runs. On Tuesday they could do nothing at first against Hargreave and Field, and all their best men were out for less thin 80. Mr. Brown b itt**d splendidly at a ciitical time, but despite his effort*, G ouce- tcr-hir^ were 193 runs behind, and if the Waiwickshire cap tain had decided to put them in again, he might, perhaps, have been able to congra'ulate him-elf on a victory. Aw it was, Gloucestei shire were fortuuate when the rai i came down, although, after all, they had the worst of the weather during the match W arw ickshire. First innings. Second innings. T. S.
