VICTORIA v. NEW ZEALAND. Played at Melbourne in February. Victoria won by an innings and 138 runs. New Zealand won the toss, and made the excellent score of 311, Reese batting finely for 83. This total was, however, by no means large enough, for Victoria put together 602, thanks to 224 by McAlister, 68 by Wilson, and 92 by Murray. With nearly 300 to make before they were level, New Zealand did not rise to the occasion, and were all out for 153 (Cobcroft 59 not out). NEW SOUTH WALES v. NEW ZEALAND. Played at Sydney at the end of February. New South Wales won by an innings and 384 runs. The scores made by New Zealand, who batted first, were 140 and 64. New South Wales found the bow ling of the visitors so easy that in their only innings they put up a total of 588. O f this Trumper was responsible for no fewer than 253, while Pye made 110, and Farqubar Ii$ . The follow ing scores iiad not reached us in time for our last issue :— SOUTH AUSTRALIA v. QUEENSLAND.
