NEW SOUTH WALES v. VICTORIA. (Keturn.) Played at Sydney at the end of January. New South Wales won by 8 wickets. As in nearly all the intercolonial matches this season, the side which was fortunate enough to win the toss was able to claim the victory. New South Wales pu f. up 442 in their first innings, M cLetd being the only bowler who could make any impression on them ; he took 6 wickets for 138 runs. Three of the other wickets fell to Giller— three for 46. The chief scorers among the New South Wales men were Iredale 98, Noble 100, and Donnan 60. Victoria were all out for 215, of which Giller claimed 87. The wickets were pretty evenly divided, Howell (3 for 22) and Noble (2 for 77) having the best analyses. In the follow - on Victoria did much better, putting up 396. Graham was in brilliant form, and scored 124, while Worrall was responsible for 68, and Giller for 53, the latter thus having distinguished himself ia both innings, besides bow ling w ill when New South Wales were batting. Five of the wickets in the second innings of Victoria were taken by Noble for 128, while McKibbin took 2 for 91. With 170 to win, New South Wales were easily victorious, and when the match ended, Iredale and Mackenzie were still going strong, the former with 49 not out, and the latter with 62 not out.
