216 CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME J une 22, 1899. of their matches, and the success with which he met will be fresh in the memory of all those who follow the game at all closely. On Monday last, at Trent Bridge, Gunn and Shrewsbury added 139 runs for the second wicket of Nottinghamshire against Derbyshire. This, it may be remarked, is the twenty-fifth occasion upon which these two batsmen have added over one hundred runs in partnership. As no two other bats men have ever taken part in so many three- figui j partnerships no apology need be made for the reproduction of the following table.
