During the same period he has taken 63 wickets for 891 rune. In first-class matches this season he played nine completed innings for 676 runs— an average of 75 per innings, and secured 59 wickets for 609 runs, an average of just over 10 per wicket. In the aver­ ages of Associated clubs last season he headed the batting of the North with 68'15 for 17 innings, four times not out ; aggregate, 886 ; highest score, 181 ; while in bowling he averaged 14’69 runs per wicket. He bowled 1,966 balls, took 75 wickets, and had 1,102 runs scored i ff him. His highest score was 191. Duiing the season just closed he made 105, not out, against South Tasmania, 181 against New Zealand, and on the llth March, against the Esk, 133 not out. His best bowling performances during the past season were 9 wickets for 6 runs against Esk, 5 for 7 runs against Midland Asso­ ciation on 1st March, and at Easter 7 for 55 against South Tasmania.
