RULES OF THE MARYLEBONE CRICKET CLUB. i. The Annual General Meeting and Anniversary Dinner shall take place on the first Wednesday in May. II. lhe Annual Subscription shall be £3., payable on the first day of May in each year; every new member shall pay, in addition, an Entrance Fee of £1. III. Any member, whose subscription shall be unpaid on the 1st of June, shall receive notice thereof from the Secretary ; and the name of any member, whose subscription shall remain unpaid on the 1st of July, shall be posted up in the Pavilion; but in case the subscription shall not have been paid on or before the 31st of December, the Committee shall have power to erase his name from the List of Members. IV . If it shall appear to the Committee, that any member whose name has been so erased has been abroad since the first of January preceding, he shall be re-admitted on his return without ballot, after payment of his subscription for the current year. V. Any member desirous of resigning, shall signify his intention to the Secretary by letter, addressed to Lord's Cricket Ground, before first of May in any year, otherwise he shall be liable for that season’s subscription and arrear. V I. The name and address of every candidate, with the names of his proposer and seconder, who shall both be members of the Club, shall be exhibited in the Pavilion for three days before ballot. V II. Ballots for new members shall be held at the Annual General Meeting, and also at the Pavilion on Mondays and Thursdays, during the months of May, June, and July. Pavilion ballots shall be held in the presence of one member of the Committee, commencing at Ilalf-past Three o'Clock, and closing at a Quarter to Four; not less than twelve members shall constitute a ballot, and two black balls shall exclude. V ila . The Officers of the Club shall consist of a President, a Treasurer, a Secretary, and not more than five nor less than three Trustees, and of three Auditors. All these officers must be members of the Club. V III. The President of each year shall nominate his successor at the Anniversary Dinner ; if he omit to do so, or if the office of President be at any time vacant by death, resignation, or otherwise, the Committee shall forthwith nominate a fresh President. IX . The offices of Tneasu-rer, Secretary, and Trustees shall be vacated only by death, resignation, or a vote of two-thirds of the members present at a special general meeting. Vacancies shall be filled up at the annual or any special general meeting. Any Trustee may during his Trusteeship hold any other office in the Club, except that of Auditor. The Auditors shall be chosen annually at the annual general meeting, and shall not be members of the Committee. X . The Committee shall consist of the President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Trustees of the Club, for the time being, who shall be ex-officio members, together with sixteen members, four of whom shall retire at the annual general meeting by rotation, and shall not be re-elected for one year. The order of rotation to be decided by the Committee. X I. A list of the Committee, distinguishing the ex-officio from the other members, shall be exhibited in the Pavilion, and the order in which members shall retire shall be specified in such list.
