In the majority of Freshmen’s matches the batsmen havemost of the fun to them selves, but this year the bowlers had some chance of distinguishing themselves. Nevertheless, there was some fine batting, eepetiallyby A. H . Hoinby, a son of Mr. A. N. Hornby, W. N. Pilkington, J. 0. Tabor, and O. W. Wright. Fernie, White, and Biddell among the bowlers did best; but, as far as can be seen at present, none of the Freshmen are likely to find a place on the roll of fame by the side of A. G. Steel, S. M. J. Woods, and other famous Cambridge bowlers. M r. N. F. D ru ce ’ s Side. Second innings. lbw, b White ... 2 c Smith, b Fernie 7 First mnicgs. T. L. Taylor, c Carter, b Wright ..................... J.
