M a y 6 , 1897. CRICKET : A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. 119 LO R D H A W K E ’S T E A M IN T H E W E S T IN D IE S . (Continued from page 83.) THE SECOND BRITISH GUIANA MATCH. (Thirteenth of the Tour.) Played at Georgetown on April 1, 2 and 3. Lord Hawke’s team won by 9 wickets. The honors of the batting as far as the home team is concerned fell to three men, G. C. Learmond, A. B. Clarke and E . F. Wright, ■who all did well in both innings. It was a pity that in the second innings threemen, including Clarke and Sproston, two of the best bats on the side, were run out. Nearly all the Englishmen played good cricket, and Bardswell, Bromley-Davenport, Whatman, and the captain greatly distinguished themselves. The home team had an uphill task in the second innings, but made a good fight. B ritish G uiana First innings. G. C.
