I am anxious to make this series of articles—there will be three in all—not only reliably accurate, but also exhaus tively detailed. So let me at once correct certain errors in the list of matches played as given in my last “ Notch." For this item I depended on the services of a friend who, being unaccustomed to the drafting of statistical tables, has tripped here and there. In future I shall rely on my own resources. Here is the corrected list of all matches played between the ten first-clas3 counties, 1872 to 1894. Bear in mind that Derbyshire dropped out of the list at the end of 1887, and that Somersetshire entered it at the beginning of 1891. Matches played Won Lost Drwn.
