Here are some choice bits:—“ The place I date from (Loomis) is a Bmall village in Northern Cali fornia, 25 miles N.B. of Sacramento, and 120 from ban Francisco, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. In San Francisco they play on matting stretched over cement, which plays tremendously fast. too hot, but we resume in September, and go on to the middle of November, the weather in October and November being perfect for cricket.
