E. Clarke 54, T. A .W atson 33 n otou t), and T unbridge W ells replied w ith 134 (Capt. Silverthorne 25). T he B urlington W anderers w ere m et on Tuesday. T h e h om e team m ade 248 (L . W ood 48, S. J. Cbing 40 n ot out), and got the visitors out for the sm all score o f 83, L .W ood bow ing exceedingly well, and taking five w ickets for 17 rut's. On W ednesday M .C.C., having w on the toss, batted first and m ade 217 (H earne, G. G. 48, F. Hill 89, L . C. B acm eister 26). T h is score proved tro m uch fo r Croydon, w ho, batting ten m en. were out fo-151 (E . H. W ilkinson 43, T. A . W atson 33). T hursday’s m atch was with N orw ood, and w as left drawn, heavy ram com ing on at five o ’clock, and preventing furthur play. N orw ood scored 163 (C onan D oyle 45, W . L . S tuait 42). and Croydon 74 fo r tw o w ickets (B. Cox 41). L. W ood again bow led w ell, taking six w ick«ts for 47. On Friday against the Per’patetics, Croydon m ade bu t a p oor show , the total t eing only P0. B. J. Ching, w hen he had m ade 84, unfortunately fell on his arm , dislocating the elbow . T h is accident w as a serious one for C roydon, as Ching had both batted aud bow led w ell in the week. T h e P eri­ p a tetics ran up a score o f 169 (F . Hill 59, J. B.
