MAY 10, Ig94 PICKET s A WEEKLY BECOB3? OF THE GAME, 119 THE CAMBRIDGE SENIORS’ MATCH. The run-getting in the second trial match at Cambridge, finished yesterday, was even more pronounced than in the first. Mr. Pope’s side going in first made a respectable total of 260. Even this was far too small, for the capacities of Mr. Robij son’s twelve. Messrs. Healing and Crabtree, indeed, put on 183 for the third wicket, and the pair between them scored mo e than the whole of the opposite side from tbe bat. Before them too, Mesrs. Field and Robin son had punished Mr. Pope’s bowling severely to the tune of 100 iuns for the first wicket. The result of the united efforts of Mr. Robinson’s side was a big total of 521. In their second innings, Mr. Pope’ s side in their turn did some high scoring. On Tuesday night, thanks to Messrs. Symes-Tbompson and W. G. Druce, 138 had been scored for the loss of only one batsman. This number was increased yesterday to 439, before the innings closed. Symes-lhompson and Druce had put on 157 for the second wicket. The former was in an hour and fifty minutes with out a chance. Later on Wilson was seen to great advantage, ^carrying out his bat for a fine score of 98. The match was ultimately drawn with the score as under. M r . P o pe ’ s S id e . First Innings. Second Innings. Mr. J. D u Y. Brunton, lbw, b Burrough ... 6 lbw, b Burrough 0 Mr. H. E .
