Jackson, Peel, and Wainwright., the Derbyshire eleven did an excellent psrform ance at Derby this week, egainst 6uch powerful opponents, wanting 27 to win with eight wickets in hand when rain put an end to the game yesterday afternoon. For this excellent show the hom e county was indebted chiefly to the good batting of S. H. Evershed and Chattertcn, and the effective bow l ing of Hulme aud Davidson. Chatterton was in over threo hours and a half, with only one hard chance when he had got 76. Hulme, w in had not appeired for Derbyshire previously this season, bowled with ►uccess. He took twelve wickets in Yorkihira’s two innings f >r 187 runs. D erbyshire —3irst Inniogs. Storer, b Hirafc......... 8 W. Sneg, b W aller .. 5 Mr. W. S.
