Of the cosmopolitan and Catholic character of cricket, every day gives fresh evidence. The game is now carried on by men—and in some cases by women—of every race, creed, climate, and colour. In Ceylon some of the natives show more than average knowledge of the game, and are able to take their own part with local clubs. In South Africa the Malays are great enthusiasts at the game, as the English teams which have played there have reason to know. The latest develop ment is a Coloured Tournament which has recently been in progress in Cape Town. The following score will show the result of the match between Cape Town and Kimberley. Cape Town, as will be seen, had an easy victory with eight wickets to spare. Ariefdien and H. Hendricks bowled un changed throughout the match for the winning side. K im berley . First Innings.
