STRAITS SETTLEMENTS* The Straits Settlements had all the best o this match, played on January 7 and 8, and won easily with an innings and 18 runs to spare. SINGAPORE C.C. Though they made a good show on the first innings, Singapore failed utterly in their second, and were all dismissed for a total of 18. This gave Hongkong a victory by an innings and 5 runs. Barff took seven of the ten- wickets of Singapore in their second innings for 5, Low3on the other three for eleven runs. The Straits, mainly through the good play of Fox, got a useful lead of 32 runs on the first innings, but Capt. After the completion of the last match, the members cf the visiting teams were enter tained at a farewell dinner by the Singapore C.C. His Excellency Sir Cecil Smith, the Governor of the Straits Settlements, presided, and a right merry evening was spent. Mr. G. Vanderspar responded to the toast of the visitors on behalf of Ceylon, Lieut. Blair for Hongkong, and Mr. Birch for that of the Straits Settlements. RESULTS OF MATCHES. The following shows the results of the various cricket matches throughout the Cricket Fortnight:— Colombo 51 and 97 v. Native States, 123 and 19 for five wickets. Drawn. Straits, 93 and 188, beat Hongkong, 40 and 75, by 166. Colombo, 92 and 5 for none, beat Hongkong, 49 and 47, by ten wickets. Straits, 166, teat Cejlon, 5*) and 92, by an innings and 18. Singapore O.C., 156 and 18, v. Hongkong C.C., won Iy the latter. 179, by an innings and 5 runs. Hongkong and Colombo, 98 and 89 for three wickets, v. Straits, 130. Drawn.
