E a stbo u rn e , after making 211 without the loss of a wicket, against Cliffdown at East bourne on Monday, closed their innings and dismissed the Cliffdown eleven for 125.. V. F. Fitzroy contributed 100 and F. W- Bush 104 for Eastbourne, both being not out. A f t e r getting rid of Crewkerne at Sher borne on May 30th for 112, Sherborne School scored 270 (H. J. Seymour 127 and O, JI. Hodgson 130) without losing a wicket, STAFFORDSHIRE v. HAMPSHIBE. Hampshire was very poorly represented for this match, played at Stoke on Monday and Tuesday last, and the home team had in con sequence an easy victory with ten wickets to spare. The game was chiefly remarkable for two fine innings by Mr. F. T. Cozens for Staffordshire. He scored 43 in the first innings and 60 not out in the second. The latter was a particularly good performance, and Staffordshire through his aid got the 70 wanted to win without the loss of a batsman. Baldwin took six wickets for Hants for 73, and Briscoe eight for Staffordshire for 61 runs. S taffo rd sh ire . First Innings. Brooks, b Baldwin Mr. F. T. Cozens, c Boxall, b Soar.........43 Mr. T. There were only three double figures on either side, and Tunnicliffe, of Yorkshire, was the most successful run- getter, with scores of 27 and 14. Baggaley, the slow left-handed bowler, who had such remarkable figures for the second eleven of Notts against the second eleven of Surrey at the Oval, had the best analyses. He took eight wickets at a cost of 44 runs. The Yorkshire Colts won with six wickets to spare. T he Cambridgeshire County Club, which was able to put a very strong team into the field some twenty or twenty-five years ago, was resuscitated at a public meeting held at Cambridge, on Saturday, Messrs. J. W. Iliffe and F. C. Huttpn, joint Hon. Secs., pro. tem.
