CHESHIRE v. WARW ICKSH IRE . W ith a wicket altogether in favour of the bowlers, this match, begun on Friday at Stock port, was finished with plenty of time to spare on Saturday afternoon. Altogether twenty-four wickets fell for an aggregate of 211, ati average of under 9 runs to each bats man, and the highest individual score was Law’s 22, in Warwickshire’s first innings. Mr. Bretlierton and Brown bowled unchanged throughout for Cheshire, and though the ama teur was most successful, both had exceptional figures, the former taking twelve wickets for 54, the latter seven for 47 runs. The bowling of Pallett and West was the best feature on the side of Warwickshire, who were beaten by six wickets. West’s six wickets only cost 16 runs. W a r w ic k s h ir e . First Innings. Yorkshire, at Lord’s, and Derbyshire v. Surrey, at Derby, arranged for the early part of the week, were not begun. The former was limited to Mon day and Tuesday, but the latter was as usual a three days fixture. The wicket at Derby was, however, so bad on Tuesday afternoon, that there was little or no chance of it being playable yesterday, and so it was decided to give up any idea of a start.
