(return) T he Annual General Meeting of the Mary lebone Club will be held at Lord’s on Wednes day, May 7, at 5.30 p.m. The anniversary dinner will follow at 7.30. T h e Am erican C rick et A n n u a l f o r 1890.—Cricket in the States has been for years represented by a special organ, the Am erican Cricketer , the first paper, we believe, professing to appeal to enthusiasts in that game, able to claim a lengthy existence. A nd now we have an Annual, detailing in handy form the doings of the various Clubs distributed over the vast Continent of America. If the first issue, which has been forwarded to us by the Editor, Mr. Jerome Flam ery, Secre tary of the Cosmopolitan Club of N ew York, is to be taken as a specimen of future editions, Am erican Cricketers will have reason to con gratulate themselves on having such a compre- ]lensive record. F or a first effort, the publisher indeed deserves every credit, as the Annual is not only neatly printed and got up, but the contents are wrell arranged, and, as far as we can judge, are reliable. As the work extends over a hundred pages, it will be gathered that m ost of the principal cricket organizations in the States figure in the part devoted to statistical matter. A lengthy reface by the E ditor gives some interesting etails, too, of the leading players and Clubs. Altogether the Annual should be of great assistance in developing the game on the other side of the Atlantic.
