In all 10,573 runs were scored by the Australians for the loss of 628 wickets, giving an average 16.86, while the various English elevens scored 9,739 runs for 622 wickets, the average thus being 15.65, or a run less. The highest innings hit by the Australians was 405against Gloucestershire at Bristol, and the lowest 60 against Staffordshire’s Eleven at Stoke, and the same total against Lord Londesborough’s Eleven at Scarborough. The highest innings scored against them was 526 by the Players at Lord’s and the lowest 27 by Lord Sheffield’s Eleven at Sheffield Park. From the figures given below our readers can see the manner in which every member of the Aus tralian team was dismissed during the tour.
