Cricket 1890

SEPT. 4,1890. CRICKET: A WEEKLY EEOORD OF THE GAME. 8 7 9 INCOGNITI IN WEST OF ENGLAND. The Innogs have recently completed, for the nineteenth successive season, their annual tour in the “ West Countree.” Of the seven matches played, they won three, lost two and two were drawn, both practically in favour of the wanderers. The weather during the first week was fine, and the scoring high, but coming on to a terribly bad wicket at Torquay, the travellers fell on, and were apparently never ableto recover their form, though Rowe, by a grand innings, did secure a victory for them at Sidmouth. They were also much handicapped by their best bowler, Seddon, falling lame after the first week, and being able to bowl but little during the second. We must not omit to mention that at Westbury the Incogs were most hospitably entertained by Mr. W. H. Laverton, and at Lyndhurst by different members of the New Forest C.O. INCOGNITI v. LANSDOWN.
