The Warwickshire eleven were seen to disadvantage against Lancashire in this m atch on the Old Trafford Ground, Man chester, on Monday and Tuesday. Briggs, who had not been able to play for a fortnight, owing to a strain, reappeared in the Lanca shire eleven, and with success. Albert Ward and he were, indeed, the only batsmen who did m uch against the bowling of Pallett and Shil ton, and they contributed 137 of 219 got from the bat. Warwickshire were dismissed by W atson and Mold for 50, and, though Mr. Docker scored well in the follow on, L an cashire won by an innings and 3 runs.
