M.C.C. and Ground, which begins at Lord’s to­ day, R. Thoms writes me thusly:— Although there is not the slightest pro­ bability that the Colts will ever again bring off another record like that of 1888, in which they dismissed the M.C.C. and Ground for a total of 17, which feat I am glad to know is printed on silk, framed, and on view at Lord’s; yet, as most of the present team have shown excellent form with their various clubs, I think and hope there will be found some promising cricketers amongst them.
