An important fixture finished in one day is an event of such rare occurrence that the above match, played at Lord’s, on Monday, deserves prominent notice. In all thirty- three wickets fell for an aggregate of 255 runs, an average of under 8 runs, Mr. Woods and Tyler bowled unchanged for the County, the former delivering 35 overs for 54 runs and twelve wickets, and the latter 33 overs for 65 runs and six wickets. Except for a couple of overs by Mr. Robinson in the second innings of Somersetshire, Pougher and Phillips were also unchanged for M.C.C.
