After being 77 behind on the first innings, the Winchester Eleven gained a most credit able victory in this match played at Eton, on Friday and Saturday last. At the finish, Eton had 179 to get to win with two hours left for play, so that the most likely result was a draw. So brilliant, though, was the fielding of W in chester that when the seventh wicket fell the total was only 12, and, as the innings closed for 64, Winchester was left with an easy victory by 114 runs. In the match Boger took eight wickets of Eton for 89 /and J. H. Ward eight of Winchester for 92 runs. W inchester . First Innings. Second Innings. T.
