Norwood v. Adelaide. In the last two hours and a quarter 308 runs were scored. G. Giffen (Norwood) hit five fours in one over of E. G. Phillips. January 28.—Sydney. Victoria v. New South Wales. In three days 1,117 runs were scored. New South Wales made 576 (H. Moses 297 not out). The second highest individual score in Inter-Colonial matches. February 11.—Adelaide. Norwood v. Hind- marsh. G. Giffen took all the eight Hindmarsh wickets which fell to the bowlers. The two other bats men were run out. February 25.—Launceston v. Esk (Tasmania). W . L. Sidebottom scored 197 (not out) of 332 for three wickets. The highest individual score recorded in Northern Tasmania February 25.—Nuwara Eliza (Ceylon). Kau- derpolla v. Nuwara Eliza. P. F. Herons Ghyl v. Nutley. Nutley scored 4, and W. Humph reys (lobs) took eight wickets of the latter for no runs. April 28—Kew. Kew Green v. Avenue. Avenue scored three (one bye). May 7—Lord’s. M.C.C. and Ground v. York shire. Alec Hearne took eight of the nine wickets which fell to the bowlers in Yorkshire’s first innings. May 10—Lord’s. M.C.C. and Ground v. Sussex. Mr. W . G. Grace made 73 of first 103 for M.C.C. in first innings in seventy minutes. His hits included one out of the ground for six. May 12.—Buckhurst Hill, Buckhurst Hill v. Clapton. J. R. Moseley scored 214 (not out) of 376 for four wickets by former. This total was got in four hours. May 14.—Lord’ s. M.C.C. and Ground v. Kent. Mr. A . J. Webbe carried his bat through former’s first innings for 37 out of 82. May 17.—Kenningfcon Oval. Surrey v. Gloucestershire. Mr. W . Troup in first innings of Gloucestershire was in fifty-five minutes before he scored. May 22.—St. Leonards. Hastings Rovers v. Edmonton. Mr. A. M. Sutthery scored 206. May 22.—Brighton. Sussex v. Gloucester shire. In three days 1,117 runs were totalled for 33 wickets. Mr. W . G. Grace scored 215 out of Gloucestershire’s first total of 428. May 21.—Nottingham. Surrey v. Notts. In Surrey’s first innings Mr. J. Shuter and Abel made 144 for the first wicket. May 21.—Dover. Barnes v. Dover Garrison. Dover Garrison scored 550. May 21.—Croydon. Croydon v. Addiscombe. A. Hill and W . Adams put on 123 runs for first wicket of former. May 21.—Isleworth. London International College v. 8th Middlesex Rifle Volunteers. C. E. Taylor carried his bat through former’s innings for 80 out of 131. May 23.—Oxford University v. Gentlemen of England with Rawlin. In the three days 1,091 runs were scored. May 24.—Cambridge First Eleven v. Next Sixteen. In three days 1,015 runs were scored for thirty-six wickets. May 28—Lord’s. Australians v. Gentlemen. Messrs. Bonnor and Bannerman put on 151 for the first wicket in Australians’ second innings. Messrs. J. Shuter and W . G. Grace scored 158 for first wicket of Gentlemen. May 28.—Oundle School House v. Laxton. R. A. A. Beresford, for former, scored 102 out of 162 and 307 out of 484, in each case nob out. This is we fancy without a parallel. June 2.—Streatham. Streatham v. Buckhurst Hill. C. Morgan bowled through out latter’s first innings without a run being scored off him. June 2.—Boston. Longwoodv. St. Lawrence. George Wright carried his bat through former’s innings for 53 out of 97. Croome in Oxford’s first innings hit a ball from Bonnor out of the ground. June 13.—Lord’s. Gloucestershire v. Middle sex. Painter and Mr. Troup added 236 for third wicket in former’s second innings. Thirkell carried his bat through former’s innings for 79 out of 242. June 23.—Portsmouth. Hampshire v. Sussex. Phillips and Tate added 63 for tenth wicket of Sussex. June 23.—Raynes Park. Lloyd’s Register v. General Steam Navigation Com pany. Nine wickets of latter fell without a run, and total consisted of a lucky snick for a couple by the last man. June 23.—Brookwood. The latter is the second highest individual score in a first-class match. Mr. Croome(Oxford)was stopped bowling for changing ends more than twice. June28.—Llandovery. Townv. School. Town scored 334 for three wickets in three hours and a quarter. June 29.—Manchester. England v. Austra lians. Mr. P. S. McDonnell made 82 out of 86 for first wicket in Aus tralians’ second innings. June 30.—Ilford. Anchorites v. Ilford. H. Chad took fifteen wickets of latter for 17 runs with underhand slows. July 2.—Lord’s. Oxford v. Cambridge. Drawn, owing to rain, though a fourth day was added. In first innings of Cambridge, E. Crawley was in forty minutes without scoring. July 2.—Kennington Oval. Surrey C. & G. v. Northamptonshire. Mr. Bowden (284) and Abel (111) put on 393 runs for former’s first wicket. July 5.—Manchester. Lancashire v. Middle sex. There was not an extra in either innings of Middlesex. Mr. O’Brien scored 61 out of 84 while he was batting in first innings of Middlesex. July 5.—Lancing College v. Stoics. C. R. H Gresson and C. J. R. Richards scored 107 for first wicket. July 7,—Lancing. Lancing College v. Hurst- pierpoint College. C. R. H. Gresson and C. J. R. Richards scored 103 for first wicket. July 9.—Derby. Australians v. Derbyshire. Messrs. Turner and Ferris bowled throughout Derbyshire’s two in nings. July 12.—Stoke. Australians v. An England Eleven. Messrs. Turner and Ferris bowled throughout both innings of latter. Bonnor scored 78 out of 105 while in for the Australians, and A. C. Bannerman carried his bat through the innings for 93 out of 319, Blackham was absent. July 23.—Eastbourne. Ne’er-do-Weels v, Eastbourne. D. H. Barry and P. Colville-Smith made 387for former's first wicket. The last 240 of the innings were got In two hours, July 23.—Derby. Lancashire v. Derbyshire* In second innings Derbyshire were dismissed for 17. July 25.—Preston. Preston v. Lancaster. T. Irving took all ten wickets of Lan caster (seven bowled) for 16 runs. July 26.—Brighton. Surrey v. Sussex. Mr. J. Shuter and Abel got 118 wanted by Surrey to win, without the loss . of a wicket. July 28.—Alderley. Alderley v. Brooklands. J. A. Forsyth ana H. D. Pagden made 98 runs for Alderley in thirty- five minutes. August 2—Manchester. Lancashire v. Surrey. Match was completed on first day, Thirty wickets fell for 221 runs, August 2.—Tonbridge. Kent v.
