The Incogs, having been again invited by Mr. Sydney Platt for a week’s cricket at his charming ground at Llanfairfechan, found themselves, on July 30, opposed to a very strong team including A. N. Hornby and Briggs. The bowling of the latter, on a sticky wicket, was too much for the visitors, who were beaten by 164 runs. Cobbold bowled extremely well, taking 14 wickets for 119 runs. The second match of the week saw a reversal of the order of affairs, the Incogs, for whom Hattersley-Smith, Ourteis and Gibson all played well, scoring a victory by five wickets. The visitors were, as usual, Mr. Platt’s guests at Bryn-y-neuadd, and all was done for their pleasure and comfort that the most thought ful kindness and lavish hospitality could devise. INCOGNITI v.
