On the whole, it was successful, three matches having been won, two lost, and one drawn. It was produc tive of some most interesting and exciting games, the difference on two occasions being only one wicket, and on a third but 38 runs, whilst in the one drawn match, at Sidmouth, the result was merely a question of time, and a quarter of ah hour’ s more play would probably have secured the Incogs another victory. The Incog team was a very strong one all through, and ought really to have done better than was actually the case. The bowl ing was very good, and plenty of it, but the batting broke down unaccountably on m<pre than one occasion. We must not omit to make mention-of the wicket-keeping of Hay- garth during the first week, and Hawkins in the pecond, both of them being quite first class. R. Thoms, as usual, officiated as umpire for the Incogs. The scores of the matches are subjoined. INCOGNITI v. LANSDOWN. Played at Bath on August 6 and 7. L ansdow n . First Innings. F. J.
