SOMERSETSH IRE. Heavy rain prevented any play in this match at Leyton yesterday, and the game, commenced at Leyton on Monday, had to he left drawn, Essex being 151 on with three wickets to go down. The chief features of the game were the batting of Mr. Ross for Somersetshire, of Messrs. Green, Boyton, and H. Fowler for Essex, and the bowling of Tyler and Messrs. F . Bishop and G. Fowler for their respective sides. Tyler, who we believe hails from Worcestershire, and is now qualified for Somersetshire by residence, bowled with great success. He took in all eleven Essex wickets. E ssex . First Innings. Second Innings. Bastow, b Bastard ........ 0 c Nichols, b Fothergill ... 12 Jones, b Tyler ...............35 c and b Tyler ... 1 Mr.W.J.
