Cricket 1888
194 CRICKET: A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. JUNE 14, 1888. reliable batsman in the County eleven. Mr. Daft, while he can hit well on occasion, has excellent defence, and, watching the ball care fully, is rarely at a loss on any wickets. He is a good field anywhere, and as he can bowl slow round if required, is a very valuable cricketer in any team. It is not only, though, in the cricket field that he has made a name. Since 1885 he has been one of the most prominent players of the Notts County Football Club, and was recently elected the Captain of the team. As a Lacrosse player, too, he has made his mark, and not only represented the North twice against the South in 1884-85, but was on the reserve for England that season. LONDON SCOTTISH v. HENDON.
