Woods, playing for Sloane Park against Paddington in the first round of the Sportsman Cup Competition on May 19th, at Paddington, took seven wickets for 11 runs, two of which were no-balls. His analysis was—6 overr-2 balls, 2 mdns., 11 runs, 7 wkts. P l a y in g for Croydon against Addiscombe, at Croydon, on W hit Monday, Astill (67) and W . Adams (62^, put on 123 runs for the first wicket. COLTS OF NORTH v. COLTS OF SOUTH. The authorities at Lord’s, finding it im possible to secure elevens for a representative match on W hit Monday, wisely determined to provide a less important fixture for the holiday folk. Some fairly interesting cricket, too, was shown on Monday and Tuesday, par ticularly by Harrison and Moorhouse, whose batting was the best feature on the Northern side. In the second innings of the South, Baldwin played good cricket, and his score of 94 was a highly meritorious display of batting without a chance. Filliston at the close, too, hit well, and the last wicket of the South added 63 runs. The most successful bowlers were Rhodes and Holland, both of Lancashire, for the North, and J. T. Hearne, for the South. N o r t h . First Innings. Second Innings. E. Skilbeck (Yorks.), c Nuttall, b Hutchings ... 5 c J. Heame, b Major .. 24 M.
