TWENTY-SEVENTH MATCH.—v. FIF TEEN OF EAST MELBOURNE CLUB. ^This match was begun on the ground of the Fast Melbourne Club on Friday, March 11, It was hoped that W. L. Murdoch would oppose the Englishmen, but, being unable to get into practice, he was an absentee. Barnes, it will be seen from the bowling analysis, was able to take his place in the English team. The Fifteen won the toss, but although the wicket was in good condition, did little against the bowling of Lohmann and Briggs, and were dismissed for a small total of 130. At the end of the first day Shrewsbury and Scotton had made 26 for the Eleven without the loss of a wicket. The attendance was very small. F ifteen of E ast M elbourne .
