Cricket 1887
62 CRICKET: A WEEKLY RECORD OF THE GAME. APRIL 14,1887. The former wag in rare form, and his score of 62 was made in an hour. M’llwraith’s play was a great contrast; he was at the wickets three hours for his 64. M’Shane got 45, but after this Flowers proved very successful, and no stand was made till Cotter, the last man, joined Horan. At the end of the first day the total was 245 for nine wickets, and on the following morning Cotter was bowled without any addition. The English men began badly when their turn came to bat, Shrewsbury losing Bates when the latter had made a single. The captain, though, was in his very best form, and when play ceased qn the second night (Saturday, March 5) he w$s not out 123 with the total 220 for the loss <>f only three wickets. V ictoria . W .
