Matches played 40—won 19, lost 9, drawn 12, T h e above clu b has a^ain had a m ost success ful season, th e results being slightly better than last year. T h e clu b has scored 8,640 runs for the loss o f 392 w ickets, or an average of 22.16 per w icket, against 6,803 for 401 wickets, and an average of 16.392 per w icket. T h e batting averages are m uch higher than last year, bu t the bowling has proved slightly m ore expeusive. Mr. J. N. Tonge has played in consistently good form, and has the exception' ally high average of 60.5 for thirteen com pleted innings. R ev. R . T . T h orn ton has also played w on derfu lly w ell, and has th e d istin ction of being the first m em ber to score over 1,000 runs for the clu b during th e season. M essrs. T h orn ton and T on ge h ave each topped the cen tu ry on three occasion s. M essrs. R . S. Jones and W . R ashleigh have also scored largely in th e few m atches th ey have been able to play. In addition to th e above, M essrs. D . D . P on tifex, W . B . P attisson, G. C. B oosey, R . D . B u dw orth, T . P . H ild er and E . R . B ou ch have all played w ell, as a glance at th e averages w ill show . M r. P. C. P a rr has proved one of th e m ost useful all-round m em bers of the club, and has taken 57 w ickets at a cost o f 17 runs per w icket, and scored 486 runs for eighteen innings. M essrs. R . T .
