SUSSEX: After some good and interesting all-round cricket the Yorkshire eleven gained a credit able victory in this match, at Bradford, yes terday. Sussex \vTas only weak with Messrs. Newham, F. M. Lucas, F. Thomas, G. Brann, and H. Phillips away, and places were found for Messrs. G. L. Wilson, of the Brighton College eleven, and W, H. Dudney, the latter keeping wicket instead of Phillips, who strained himself at Brighton last week. Still they did fairly well, and thanks to a fine not out innings byBean of 105were only 50runsbehind on the first “ hands.” Yorkshire went in yester day morning wanting 130 to win, and Hall and Ulyett did a noteworthy performance, getting them without the loss of a wicket. Ulyett, who ought to have been caught at cover point when he had got only 15, hit afterwards in brilliant style, and everyone will be pleased to see him again apparently in his best form, Messrs. Wilson and Dudney,' who, we believe, made their first appearance for Sussex in this match, both showed to advantage with the bat, playing good cricket in each innings. Denton, a recent^ addition to the county eleven, and Peel deserve praise for their excellent batting in Yorkshire’s first innings. Total Total . 58 ...........273 L ancashire . First Innings.
